After losing the use of six air conditioners in one week to a band of returning copper thieves, a small historic church near downtown Houston is on guard.
The Rev. Desmond Ohankwere and volunteers have spent the last three nights on the property at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 2508 Clay St., to watch for the brazen thieves, said volunteer office worker Reola Reed.
