Oprah’s having a party, and she’s inviting some 20-thousand of her “closest” friends to celebrate. They’re the fans, celebrities and music stars who’ve supported the “Queen of Talk” over the years, and they’ll all be in close quarters on May 17th when Oprah Winfrey hosts a free farewell bash at Chicago’s United Center. The celebration will toast the end of Oprah’s longrunning daytime talk show which comes to an end next month. While it is a free event, fans must have a ticket to join the party. They can secure one, while quantities last, by logging on to oprah.com. Dubbed “Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular,” the event, as the title suggests, will include several big names who will show up to surprise the media mogul.
The celebration will be taped for air on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in two parts on May 23rd and May 24th, just ahead of the final show. After 25 seasons, the final episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” will air on May 25th.
