A spot in “American Idol’s” top 24 was on the line Thursday night, as Fox’s hit singing competition continued to reveal its two dozen finalists.  “Idol” hopefuls Jacee Badeaux, Brett Lowenstern and Colton Dixon were the last three to learn their fate,.

Brett Loewenstern was just one of 12 male vocalists to keep his “American Idol” dreams alive.  Other guys joining Lowenstern in the next round include Jacob Lusk, James Durbin, Scotty McCreery, and Tim Halperin.  Twelve female singers also earned a spot in “Idol’s” final 24, as Julie Zorilla, Karen Rodriguez, Ta-Tynisa Wilson, and Lauren Alaina all advanced on.  The remaining 24 vocalists will now have to compete for America’s vote, with the men taking the stage first next Tuesday.  The women will follow on Wednesday night, with an elimination taking place next Thursday.  Tune in to Fox next Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern for an all-new “American Idol.”
