Two homeless brothers who live in a cave are set to inherit a share of up to $7 billion from a rich grandmother they have never met.

Hungarian brothers Zsolt and Geza Peladi and a sister in America are automatically entitled to part of the estate of their German heiress maternal grandmother, the Telegraph reports.

The Peladis currently earn money by selling scrap on the streets in Budapest but are set for a lifestyle change after receiving word they will likely inherit billions of dollars.

“If this all works out for us it will certainly make up for the life we have had until now,” 43-year-old Geza said.

Mr Peladi said their mother had severed ties with her wealthy family and abandoned her children before her death.

The brothers are now looking for their mother’s birth certificate to prove they are rightful heirs after they were contacted with the news from their grandmother’s lawyers
