Founded in 1912, Jarvis Christian College is an independent, four-year liberal arts college that aims to prepare students to succeed in a global and technological society. This Texas Christian college is a historically black Christian college, but welcomes students from all ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Jarvis Christian College offers bachelor’s degree programs in the fields of liberal arts, science, business, and education. Students can augment their education by applying for the Honors Program or STEM Scholar Program, the latter of which is part of an initiative to promote success among minority students in science, technology, education, and mathematics. Prospective students from thirteen East Texas high schools can also participate in Upward Bound, a pre-college preparatory program.

Jarvis Christian College offers NAIA varsity teams in men’s basketball and baseball, and women’s basketball and volleyball. Students can also join more than 30 clubs and organizations on campus.
