T0 have support from a loved one is encouraging and inspiring. Many of us can testify how our mother and/or father made numerous provisions to elev8 and better ourselves. We keep and cherish those selfless acts of love in our hearts and minds.
Ohio resident Kelly Williams-Bolar is just another mother trying to provide her children with the best education available. Yesterday, in an Ohio courtroom, Williams-Bolar was sentenced to 10 days in jail and put on three years probation for sending her kids to a school out of their district. The mother and her two girls live an Akron housing projects and used their father’s address in the nearby township. Her conviction is two counts of tampering with court records.
In addition to her conviction, she and her father Edward Williams were charged with defrauding the school system for the time the girls were enrolled and determined this was worth $30,500. Mr. Williams was also charged with fourth-degree felony of grand-theft.
The judge, Patricia Cosgrove believed that her sentence was appropriate “so that others who think they might defraud the school system perhaps will think twice.”
