Hey what can I say except… yep… Thank God It’s Friday…. You see as a wife and mother of six beautiful children. Yes, I did say six and they all came from God through my body with my husband’s help. I am so happy its Friday. You see the day after Friday is Saturday and on Saturdays I don’t have to get up soo early. And, on Sundays, I can get up later still because the service I attend at my church is later than the time school, work, ballet, tap, soccer, football, and all the other things in my life begin. So guess what …. I Thank The Lord Its Friday….

As you can guess, my life is a little busy, just a little busy, I mean whose isn’t with six kids and a wonderful dutiful God-fearing husband (ok, so he paid me to say that – smile). But the most important thing to me is that I am walking this walk with God the way He wants me and you know that is not always easy. But, it is joyful and peaceful. Because God tells us in His word that His joy is our strength and He will give us peace if we just ask. Now that is not to say it’s not hard and demanding. I mean God’s standards are so very far above anything I would ever imagine for myself or anyone else for that matter.

Take this for example, God calls marriage a covenant – a covenant – A COVENANT?! He doesn’t call marriage a contract – social or legal. Marriage is a covenant made to God in the presence of all of those guests at your wedding. Made to God, made to God – hey, what about my spouse didn’t I make a promise to them? What most of us don’t realize is that when we agree to marry someone is when we make the promise to them, but when we actually say our vows we are entering into a covenant with God.

And, you know what else, God says it is better to not enter into a covenant with Him than to enter and break it….. Ok that is a high standard and I don’t know if I want to do that especially when I am unable to sleep at night because of all the snoring going on in my house. And, see not sleeping makes me very cranky. And, a cranky mommy of six loud obnoxious children (see what you start to call them when you have no sleep) is not why I signed up for marriage in the first place…. So, yes God’s standard is so much higher than I would place on myself or anyone else.

But, I know God has my best interest at heart and sometimes I do not! Because I want to see my children always as beautiful and wonderfully made and my husband as my hero, sexy provider and protector, I do what God asks of me and look for His joy in my everyday walk and ask for peace that surpasses all understanding. And with that all I can say is THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY!!!!!
