Another “American Idol” finalist was sent packing on Wednesday night, as Fox’s hit vocal competition trimmed the field down to five.  Nineteen-year-old Siobhan Magnus received good reviews on Tuesday for her rendition of Shania Twain’s “Any Man of Mine,” but on Wednesday she found out her performance wasn’t good enough.

Twenty-six-year-old Michael Lynche and Texas vocalist Casey James joined Siobhan Magnus in last night’s bottom three, but were fortunate enough to survive for another week.  Prior to Magnus’ elimination, a collection of country stars rocked to the “American Idol” stage.  Rascal Flatts performed their hit “Unstoppable,” as well as a duet with pop star Shakira called “Gypsy.”  Lady Antebellum performed their single “Need You Now,” while Sons of Sylvia stopped by for a performance of “Love Left To Lose.”  Hollywood stars Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas also appeared on Wednesday’s broadcast, promoting their upcoming film “Shrek Forever After.”

Next week on “American Idol,” singer Harry Conick Jr. will mentor the finalists as they perform songs by Frank Sinatra.  Tune in to Fox next Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern for an all-new episode of “American Idol.”
