How should the church treat divorced people?

Last: 11/10/2009 I have seen several people post negative comments about churchs “tolerating” divorce. I believe they came from Christians, but maybe not. I was wondering how you think the church should treat divorced people? Should they forbid them membership? Should they treat it like anything else and forgive them? Should they do all they can to help them through it? Should they shun them? What do you think?
