Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- In need of some roster upgrades after a disappointing 2013 season, the Houston Texans have signed former Miami Dolphins safety Chris Clemons to a two-year deal. The deal is worth $2.7 million and also includes $450,000 in guaranteed money according to ESPN.com. A fifth-round draft pick back in 2009, Clemons had spent his entire five-year carer with the Dolphins. The Texans' director of player personnel, Brian Gaine, was with the Dolphins organization when Clemons was drafted. Since his rookie season, Clemons has steadily improved as a player. He started all 16 games for the Dolphins in 2012 and 2013. It could be argued that the Texans were the most disappointing team in the NFL in 2013. After making the playoffs the previous season, the team went just 2-14 and hold the number one pick in the upcoming draft. Despite their struggles, the Texans did manage to have the seventh defense in the NFL this past season. Copyright 2014 ABC News Radio
