As previously reported by NewsOne, Smith, the pastor of Prospect Park Missionary Baptist Church was found shot to death last Saturday, his body discovered by a pond on Hickory Hill.

“All we know is right now he was murdered and we can’t find the person who did it,” Raymond Jones said.

“We’re still trying to put pieces together of what actually happened that caused his death,” Jones said.

So far, there are no suspects and the family can not think of a motive. They just voiced their disbelief that anyone would want to hurt Smith.

“The only thing I can see is my daddy trying to help someone in the middle of the night, which is something he would do,” Smith’s daughter, Whitney Smith, told FOX 13. “He was that kind of person – so helpful he seems naive sometimes, because he helped everybody… even when they shouldn’t be helped.”

Pastor Smith’s wallet and 2010 Buick Lacrosse were missing.

Williams and Reed were found inside of the car in Greenville, Mississippi.
