TBR — Los Angeles, CA — The 2014 BET Awards aired live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater L.A on Sunday night.
This year’s host was Chris Rock.
Nominated in the Category of ‘Best Gospel Artist’ were Donnie McClurkin, Erica Campbell, Hezekiah Walker, Tamela Mann and Tye Tribbett.
Winning the BET Awards ‘Best Gospel Artist’ 2014 title was Tamela Mann.
Accompanying her to the stage was her husband of 26 years of marriage David Mann.
In her acceptance of the award, she mentioned that she just had “knee surgery a week ago and thanked TKO, Tilly Mann, Glam Squad (among others) and “my husband of 26 years.” She concluded by saying “If the sky’s the limit, all things are possible, if you just believe.”
Congratulations also goes out to Pharrell Williams for Video of the Year. During his acceptance of his award he said, “First to the Father, God, Thank You. He also thanked his mom, dad and his wife and his son and Missy Elliott who performed on his set during the live show. Adding, that’s how “Virginia do it.”
