(HOUSTON) — Women will be able to receive free clinical breast exams this weekend at the Texas Black Expo in Houston.

Sisters Network — a “national African-American breast cancer survivorship organization” — has partnered with Mammosafe, a mobile mammography service provider in the Houston area, to perform clinical breast exams at the event.

The Texas Black Expo will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday.

The Latest News Headlines, Traffic and Weather:

Houston Methodist Hospital physicians will give clinical breast examinations on site, and then board-certified radiologist Dr. Daniel R. Roubein and his staff aboard Mammosafe’s new mobile breast imaging center will perform the mammograms.

A goal of Sisters Network, which was founded 20 years ago, is to increase local and national attention to the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the black community.

Mammosafe is the only mobile screening mammography coach in the nation with a radiologist on board. Roubein is present, in a separate room, monitoring the exams as Mammosafe’s experienced female mammography technologist is doing them. He then actually meets with each patient to discuss her results — a service not available anywhere else in the U.S.
