(HOUSTON) — Please join us in welcoming reporter Adela Uchida to the News 92 FM team.

“We are thrilled to have Adela on our team, and believe she will add to our bench strength and social media presence,” News 92 FM Program Director Alan Furst said.

Adela began her career in Colorado, initially working behind the scenes as a news assistant and writer, and then working her way up to reporter and anchor.

From Colorado, she went to Michigan where she was a main anchor for the weekday 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts at WILX-TV in Lansing.

Adela arrived in Houston in 2008. She comes to News 92 FM by way of KTRK-TV, where she was a reporter, weekend anchor and host of a community affairs show.

She joins News 92 FM as a reporter.

“I’m really excited to join a fast-growing news organization,” Adela said. “And I’m super excited to stay in Houston.”

“Adela’s hiring adds to our unwavering commitment to delivering Houstonians in-depth coverage,” Radio One Regional Vice President Doug Abernethy said.

Adela went to the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she majored in broadcast journalism with an emphasis on political science.

Adela is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association. She lives in the ‘burbs with her family and their two rescued cats. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her daughter. She is also an avid reader and runner, having completed six marathons.
