Mayor Parker Does Not Support Voter ID State Law

Dismiss

(HOUSTON) – Mayor Parker was up bright and early today Monday to vote early – for herself, of course. Monday is the first day of early voting. Two years ago, Parker narrowly avoided a runoff against a ballot full of unknown candidates. This time she says she’ll do better.

Parker says she’ll win again without a runoff. The Mayor, like everyone else, had to show her identification to vote.

Voter ID is a new state law that Parker does not support. She says it shows a distrust of the public.

“Last time I was running against the economy as much as anything and I was coming off some hard but necessary decisions that were very unpopular.”
