Approximately 3,000 Westwood Community households will receive a visit May 1-3,  2013 from Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS) employees handing out information packets that highlight the area’s community resources.  The Health and Human Services partnered with the Higher Dimension Church by using its D-Spot Community Center to create a central command center to meet the needs of the underserved in the Westwood Community. On May 4, 2013 the two entities will come together for a neighborhood wide Community Festival.

The teams comprised of 250 employees, and Higher Dimension Church GO- volunteers, is part of HDHHS’ Assessment, Intervention and Mobilization (AIM) project. The teams will visit over 16 apartment units.

HDHHS uses AIM projects to evaluate and improve the ability of residents to manage their health and well-being. It also uses the AIM projects to help link residents to needed health or human services.
