Reports indicate that a four-year-old child was killed Sunday evening when authorities say the car he was in broke down and was hit by a speeder in southeast Houston. Around 10:00 p.m., a four-year-old boy was with his father in a car on the South Loop near Old Galveston Road when their car became stalled.

Another driver who was reportedly speeding crashed into multiple cars causing a chain reaction collision involving three to four cars. The car that the father and son were in was apart of that chain reaction accident. On impact, the young boy was severely injured. Paramedics arrived at the scene and then quickly assembled to perform CPR on the boy. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital but he was pronounced dead when he arrived.

Additional reports indicate that the boy’s father was impaired while driving and he was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Police also stated that the driver who was speeding was also impaired behind the wheel and will also be charged with a DWI.
