A jury has just found HPD officer Andrew Blomberg not guilty of official oppression in the beating case of 15-year old Chad Holley.

Blomberg would have faced up to a year in jail if he were convicted of oppression, a class A misdemeanor.

The beating incident occurred on March 24, 2010 when Holley was being chased by HPD after fleeing a burglary. Footage showed that Blomberg along with 3 other former officers, stomped, kicked and punched Holley even after he had his hands behind his back, showing no aggression.

Local civil rights leaders Quanell X along with family and friends protested for the beating tape to be released to the public after Holley’s injuries were assessed.
