The father of the six-month-old baby found dead in a refrigerator has been arrested and charged. Joseph Mouton 57, reportedly killed his six-month-old son and put the the baby’s body in his refrigerator. Mouton has been charged with injury to a child.

Mouton was reportedly under the influence of a chemical substance when the killing occurred. After returning to a stable mental state, investigators say that Mouton then placed the baby in a blanket and put the baby in his refrigerator.

Additional reports indicate that Mouton called 911 threatening suicide. He reportedly tried to kill himself by overdosing on medications. Upon being loaded on a stretcher, Mouton reportedly admitted to killing his baby boy.

Back in In 1988, Mouton served eight years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder charges. In 2004, he served time again for drugs. Then this past fall, before his son’s mother was about to give birth, he was convicted and served 30 days behind bars for beating her. The mother of the child moved to Clear Lake and reportedly did not have the financial means to care for the infant. She then left the baby with the father, Mouton.
