From COHOVA: The Iraq Veterans Welcome Home Parade will take place in Downtown Houston on Saturday April 7, 2012!

It will start at 4:00 pm (with check in and assembly at 3:00pm).

All Iraq veterans who served either in country or supported operations in Iraq are asked to participate in the parade.

Those still serving in Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard units are asked to check in with their chain of command. We wll march units by branch of service in composite formation.

Those Iraq veterans no longer in unifrom who wish to participate need to register for the event at http://www.lonestarveterans.org Click on the American Flag to complete the registration.

All familiy members who lost a service member in Iraq are asked to call Laura Wolf of Lone Survivors Organization at (281) 904 6281 to coordinate their involvement in the parade.

The check in point is located at the intersection of Texas and San Jacinto. The parade route will march East along Texas Avenue to Crawford, turn North on Crawford and will enter Minute Maid Park where the Houston Astros have generously donated 1000 tickets for personnel in uniform and their immediate family members. Astros tickets will be distributed at check in to unit/organization representatives.

All veteran organizations, veteran service organizations and citizens are asked to line the streets along the parade route to welcome these veterans home. Special tickets for the game are available at http://www.Astros.com/troops for those wanting to attend the game.

A reviewing stand will be on the parade route on Crawford and a family member area viewing area will with be provided next to the reviewing stand.
