Oprah Winfrey was granted the first interview with the family of late Pop iconWhitney Houston for her OWN series, “Next Chapter.” During the discussion with Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, the 17-year-old revealed that she would be following in her mother’s footsteps as an entertainer.

“I’m her daughter, I have to carry on her legacy,” she told Oprah. “I have a voice. I’m going to do some acting and dancing. It’s a lot of pressure, but she prepared me for it. She was preparing me for what’s to come.”

Throughout the interview Bobbi reiterated how much of a friend her mother was to her and that all of he negativity that was reported, “was not my mother.”

When asked what her last day with Whitney was like Bobbi Kristina revealed that they’d spent the day in each others arms.

When speaking with her sister-in-law Oprah didn’t shy away from tough questions about Whitney’s erratic behavior related to her drug abuse.. Patricia confirmed reports that Whitney got into a confrontation with a young woman from “The X-Factor” show and told Whitney that it was time to go.

On February 11, 2012 Whitney Houston was found dead in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles the night before The Grammys. She was 48 years old.
