A text message scam that has been circulating in other states has now reached Texas. If you receive at text message telling you that action is required on your account and for you to call an 806 number from onlinealert.com then enter in your infomation, don’t do it! It is a scam.

People who do provide that information soon start to see unauthorized charges multiplying on their account from overseas.

Experts say never respond to a text message or email that asks for personal banking information. Don’t click any links. Instead go to your bank’s website for a customer service phone number.
