Warner Brothers has chosen to undertake a remake of a movie that some people consider to be a romantic classic and others believe was a horrible movie, The Bodyguard. The Bodyguard was a huge success in 1992 despite being flambéed by movie critics. It made over $400 million worldwide, and Whitney Houston brought many of us to tears with the hit song, “I Will Always Love You”. Those were the good old days, Kevin Costner was a huge star and Whitney Houston was still the Whitney we loved.

The new movie will be altered a bit; Kevin Costner’s character will be a veteran of either the Afghan or Iraqi war instead of being a special agent. There will be a bit of internet stalking of whoever plays Whitney Houston’s character (early rumors are saying singer Rihanna for the part). There is no word yet on when The Bodyguard will start filming, but being as it does not have its characters cast yet, it won’t be soon.

How do you feel about The Bodyguard being remade? Who do you want to see playing Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston’s characters?
